Interview with Madonna about her Africa movie

jakoblodwick:

New York Magazine: In the movie, you look at one ritual in which a young woman is told she must have sex with a man three times in a day, in order to “cleanse” her.

Madonna: It’s not my place to judge that tradition.

Since Madonna has chosen to abstain from judgment, allow me the pleasure. It is wrong to rape someone, no matter how long it’s been part of your cultural tradition. Even if it’s to sever the wife’s spirit-link with the dead man’s ghost.

Madonna, as one of the most influential artists in the world, your failure to apply your faculty of judgment to tribal rape is deplorabe. For your comments, you are a piece of trash.

Here’s the full interview

We must ask the young woman. Nobody else can answer this.
